Atlanta Falcons Seek New Homes for Five Unsigned Free Agents

The Atlanta Falcons are navigating the NFL free agency period with five former players still looking for new teams. After a disappointing season that saw the Falcons miss the playoffs for the eighth consecutive year, team owner Arthur Blank made significant changes, including the hiring of general manager Ian Cunningham and head coach Kevin Stefanski. Despite limited salary cap space, the Falcons signed several low-risk, high-upside free agents, but some familiar faces remain unsigned. Among the notable players still available is edge rusher Leonard Floyd, who was a part of the Falcons' defensive rotation last season. Linebacker Josh Woods, wide receivers KhaDarel Hodge and Malik Heath, and offensive tackle Tyrone Wheatley Jr. are also on the market. Floyd's absence is particularly surprising given the potential suspension of rookie Jalon Walker, which could have opened a spot for him on the roster. With training camp approaching in July, these players still have time to secure contracts with other teams. The Falcons currently have approximately $28 million in cap space after signing wide receiver Drake London to a lucrative extension, allowing for potential moves as they finalize their roster for the upcoming season.
